of TWIDCO is to conceive and design national, regional and community
development projects for presentation to prospective venture
capitalists, institutions, private investors, groups, charities, foundations
and other donors in developed countries; with a view to solicit their
cooperation in the implementation of these projects in the countries concerned.
TWIDCO basically serve as mediators or catalysts; and by
first proposing its projects and programs to the governments and community
leaders to get their approval, cooperation, support and collaboration required
for overseas investors and sponsors to play their respective roles, for mutual
benefit. In other words, TWIDCO mediates between these two parties to give the
investors and or sponsors the confidence that, their capital would not be
wasted while helping the governments and communities, to make the best use of
the foreign capital or sponsorship they so badly need to improve the lives of
We seek to involve not only government’s institutions, but also many private institutions,
corporations, companies, groups, individuals and communities in our work. This
commitment to broaden involvement stems from the desire to secure stability and
support for the programs we undertake. We pursue this commitment through a
strongly inter-disciplined, coordinating staff of qualified professional and
the extensive involvement of local advisors, paramount chiefs, collaborators
and affiliated local companies. Our open hand policy to represent client’s
interest in the United States and other foreign capitals, gives TWIDCO the
advantage of ensuring effective communication and that of checking the
credibility of the foreign company in its ability to meet any contractual obligations.
Our credibility is built through accuracy and fairness, and our desire to promote
socio-economic development through private sector initiative is by no mean
objective. A creative and innovative search for solutions to the economic
crisis in Third World Nations forms an inter-goal part of our approach. The
activities of TWIDCO centers around reformative measures that will enhance the
level of economic and social well-being of the people of Third World Nations.
Our periodic research of most third world nations especially, the sub-region of Africa and
the Caribbean region clearly indicate that, it is evident that these countries
need investment capital for the development of their natural resources and
local infrastructure. Private entrepreneurs in these countries and venture
capitalists around the world have a vested interest in helping these countries
procure the needed capital for development. However, these investors lack
effective professional liaison establishments with which to work.
The mission of TWIDCO is to fill this gap and create the means to
address and alleviate the most pressing concerns of interested international
investors. To ensure success of its mission, TWIDCO affiliates itself, whenever
necessary, with private and public businesses and institutions, that share
TWIDCO ideology with respect to assisting these countries on the road to true
development and economic independence.
AND DESIGN OF PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS
First, all projects so far prepared by TWIDCO for implementation in Third World Nations,
are meant for the benefit of the People of these countries. In other words, the
primary target or ultimate beneficiaries are the millions of inhabitants,
living and working in various communities across the nations.
Secondly, the concept and design of these projects, regardless of the scope (rural,
urban, regional or national) are greatly influenced and
even shaped by findings of various modes of research and investigation
conducted by TWIDCO research department; and of course, global trends which are
obviously relevant to TWIDCO operations, because they also affect the
propensity of overseas venture capitalist and sponsors to cooperate. In all its
research, TWIDCO focuses more on needs rather than wants, especially considering
the high proportion of non-literate residents of these countries.
